A Federação Brasileira das Associações dos Profissionais Tradutores e Intérpretes e Guia-intérpretes de Língua de Sinais – FEBRAPILS se dirige com satisfação aos tradutores intérpretes e guia-intérpretes de forma respeitosa e esclarece que:
– A data alusiva ao dia do tradutor intérprete de língua de sinais, dia 26 de julho é em decorrência de um projeto de lei PL./0473.8/2013 que institui o Dia Estadual do Tradutor/Intérprete da Língua Brasileira de Sinais (LIBRAS), no Estado de Santa Catarina. A Febrapils reconhece e agradece a homenagem que engrandece e enaltece nossa profissão. Tal data foi difundida em grande parte do território nacional.
– A data mundialmente comemorada em homenagem ao tradutor intérprete é o dia 30 de setembro, dia de São Jerônimo, grande intelectual que fez a tradução da Bíblia da língua hebraica e grega para o latim.
Conscientes da importância de termos projetos de lei que reconheçam e valorizam nossa profissão, a Febrapils agradece e parabeniza os profissionais da área da tradução e interpretação da língua de sinais e língua portuguesa do estado de Santa Catarina e aqueles que se sintam homenageados com essa data e, enfatiza que, a data do dia 30 de setembro nos coloca do patamar dos tradutores intérpretes das línguas orais preconizando e engrandecendo nossa profissão.
